Located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, Tesuque is a census-designated place with a population of about 900 people as of the 2000 census. Tesuque is part of the Santa Fe Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located about 6 miles north of Downtown Santa Fe.
Individuals visiting Tesuque will quickly discover there are several things to see and do around the community. Tesuque is located a short distance from Tesuque Pueblo which is part of the Eight Northern Pueblos. The Tesuque Pueblo has occupied its present location since the 1200s and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Individuals looking to stay in the community should visit some of the delicious restaurants in Tesuque. Many residents of the community consider El Nido and the Tesuque Village Market to be two of the best places to eat in Tesuque. There are also several attractions in Santa Fe which is located about 6 miles south of Tesuque. Santa Fe is the capital city of New Mexico and is considered to be the cultural hub of the state.
Tesuque is located in a climate that experiences very warm summers and cold winters. The months of June, July and August have average daytime temperature highs that range from the upper-80s to low-90s. During the summer season, it is not uncommon for temperatures to reach up to the low-100s. Central air conditioning units should be installed in the homes of Tesuque residents. After installation, individuals should hire HVAC technicians to perform regular maintenance on their cooling systems to ensure they are operating as efficiently as possible.
Although it is easy to assume that Tesuque is located in a climate that is immune to cold winters, the community does, in fact, experience cold weather throughout the winter season.
